Fielded is the moniker of Brooklyn-based Producer/songwriter Lindsay Powell. Her latest music video, directed by Alex Mallis, in association with Meerkat Media, probes and re-presents our preconceptions about the quest for love and understanding in New York City. ‘I Choose You’ is the standout single from Fielded’s 2015 ‘Boy Angel EP’ (Universally Handsome). the video features Enrique’s Unisex Salon, a celebrated barber shop in the heart of Bushwick. Powell’s vocals longingly dance over sparse instrumentation; the track is hopeful that certainty of choice will unlock the heart from the grip of feigned passiveness all too common in the come-and-go hook ups of our twenties. The video offers choice as a creative act, radical all the more when the choice is that of real, human love and understanding.
