Christopher Poindexter is the co-creator, writer, and producer of BRIC TV’s Brooklynification, a digital series The New York Times described as “sharper than most… well-acted and well-written… understated satire.” His latest project, Hotter in July, marks his directorial debut—a three-part romantic dramedy set in the world of Black Broadway.

A graduate of Columbia Law School, Chris works as a transactional media attorney in New York City while investing in, producing, and advising independent film projects. He wrote and produced his first short, Their Eyes Were Watching Gummy Bears, an autobiographical comedic look at his experiences as a Black student at Princeton.

A passionate advocate for mentorship and access, Chris serves on the Board of Reel Works, a Brooklyn nonprofit that provides one-on-one filmmaking mentorship to underserved youth. He executive produced the organization’s first feature, 72 Hours: A Brooklyn Love Story, and was named one of Brooklyn Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in Brooklyn Culture.”
